Here's the snow thus far

Spending the weekend at my folks house in Nampa again. Smoke alarms started going off at 1:00am and we eventually had to get the fire department out around 2:30 to verify carbon monoxide levels were fine and such. Just a faulty detector. Got plenty of sleep last night!
So maybe my lack of sleep is obscuring my vision or judgement but uh these models are wacky

I hate shoveling purple snow anyway.  A low of 50, currently 53 and feels like a cool, wet sponge outside.  I had 1.01" of rain yesterday, 4.56" for the month and 48.33" for the year.

Ensemble support for that delicious -10ºC @ 850mb GFS operational run is... lackluster.

Not saying it’s going to happen, but it actually looks about as solid as one could reasonably expect at that range.

Major snowstorm plus late blooming fall foliage equals what could be a tree related disaster.

Speaking of trees...

I don’t know if you heard anything about the blowdown event in the Mt. Hood area during the Labor Day windstorm, but apparently it was historic in spots.

Oh and it’s not going to snow this month.

Yeah I was really expecting the majority of the ensembles to be down around -10c in the 8-10 day range when I saw that.

Your rudeness is totally uncalled for. I'm just trying to learn things here. Sometimes it seems like you react to even the most innocuous posts here with insults and sarcasm. It's not a good look.

You generally aren’t going to see the ensembles swing hugely toward such an extreme solution, especially at that range.

Euro gives us a decent brush with chilly air next week, but is a pretty far cry from going totally nuts like the GFS.

It looks like a nice early taste of cold air. Many shall see frost or a possible hard freeze. I'll take it. 🎃

12Z ECMWF does not show any snow for WA... but it does show snow right where you expect snow in October in Oklahoma and Texas.
