1998-99 had a legit high tier Arctic blast (only brought like 2" of snow to most lowland locations though) and was one of the snowiest Cascade winters of all time.

I'm talking cold top to bottom. 1998-99 had a legit arctic outbreak and not much else.

Yeah, the high cascade snow pack that winter was absolutely insane. We camped in the Three Sisters Wilderness west of Bend in late July and the lakes we camped at were still snowed in and there was easily 10-12' of snow still on the ground at 6500'.

I think this upcoming block can be safely declared unhelpful. Nothing is going to pop out of that... Pacific resets after D4 and a new block emerges... that subsequent block is our last chance of the winter for anything notable IMO.

Well so far this run is not as good as the 18z, but not a complete disaster yet...

So far this run actually shows two snow chances up here. This coming Tuesday night, and then the following Monday night. I've seen much worse runs this winter.

Well it's at least nice to see arctic air actually making it into the lower 48. If someone in the lower 48 gets hammered this month I will score it a small victory.

Boston was in the single digits the other day and Lake Michigan is freezing over again. Not to mention the massive snowstorms in Omaha, New York state, Oklahoma, Montana this winter; as well as the epic fall storms in Montana and Denver (100F to snow in one day.)

They've had plenty... time to share the love here!
