I was referring to ones that had more of a continental flavor, but yeah.

I just experienced the craziest day of my life. Normal, routine doctor's visit quickly spiraled into a seven hour stay in the ER for a MRI scan to check for malignant tumors or multiple sclerosis. Tha

The models are really touting a major Kona low for the middle of next week.  Don't be surprised if something pops for later next week.

Early March 2019 was our first low in the teens in March since the 70s.

I know not top tier, but March 2009 had some chilly offshore flow.

It snowed 3" on Bainbridge on March 15th, 2009. Really unexpected and put my Winter total over 40 inches so it was pretty great.

Not surprising at 1600' elevation. Upper-level temp averages reach their nadir in Feb and March, even with high sun angles heating up the valley floor.

Hopefully we will get a real honest to goodness winter one of these times for you to enjoy.  Once in a while we get a really good one.

Was Feb 2019 so long ago? Only SEA's snowiest February on record.

Obviously. But SW was talking about the Puget Sound region, where he lives.

Ah my bad, I was referring to where The Blob lives (which he doesn't specify, but for some reason I thought it was in the Portland area).

Ryan Maue posted the 18z GFS parallel at day 9 on his Twitter

Was wondering why we didn't hear about it.

Deleted my post, wasn’t the parallel, he mentioned parallel version in his post but looks like it’s the normal GFS run. Gfsv16 stuck at hour 12.

Reality?

Anyone posting anything that is more than 48h which isn’t the EPS will be banned. Anyone peddling snow and cold theories that are not bounded by reality will be banned. Anyone who likes cold, darkness, dampness, or anything Jessie likes will be banned.

You’ve given me the confidence to stick with this and to make a point. The only way we can attract people who want to have serious discussions about the weather in the frame of our climate must adhere to a construct of reality or they will be mocked and their online weather lives canceled. It’s just silly that anyone could think we could have anything cold late in a La Niña winter with those blazingly high sun angles.

Thanks again lil buddy, you’ve helped turned this forum around.

Fun fact- I joked with Ryan about being dogged on his tweets and he quickly sent me a DM encouraging me to kill my self, and something with my mother. Then I got blocked. Stand up dude.

Is the precipitation that's been going on today in the North Sound just a result of lift as the NW flows encounters the Cascade Foothills?

I just think it's been interesting that I've been right on the western edge of the rain on radar. At times we've had just light mist while at other times it's been moderate to heavy rain.

Not that I am looking forward to March, but Seattle had a significant snow on March the 9th in 1989 or 1990. I was working in the Federal building and what I feel like was advertised as a mix of snow and rain turned into a solid six inches on Capital Hill. I ruined a pair of Kenneth Cole suede loafers because I had to walk home to the top of Capital Hill. The buses were not chained up and one after one got stuck on East John. Fun times
