Pretty funny looking cloud in Vancouver today. Got this from Facebook.

10897989_10206380385975555_6323609155812And this apparently from Oregon Dunes out at the Coast. Not seeing any official reports of water spout, but sure looks like one.

Nice to see the Cascades getting a decent shot of snow this morning.

Looking at radar returns, it should be a snowy morning on Mt. Hood. Even Gov't camp has some snow cover. Holy cow!

Pretty amazing how long we have gone since we have seen that. It is to bad we go back to our default ridge in a few days.

I couldn't agree more. A few weeks of this stuff would be nice. At least the ridge for later this week is looking a little more short lived on recent runs.

Funny how two of the most outdoorsy people here love "depressing" weather so much! Well three counting Andrew. It's like people who actually go outside realize it isn't very bad!

WRF does not look too bad on Saturday...

That looks like a cold front to me. 850s drop below zero and highs go from upper 60s Friday to upper 50s Saturday with lows in the 30s. Would mean a nice and dry weekend, just cooler and crisper.

Beautiful progression if it plays out that way.

Looks like the 12z Euro supports this solution too. We may not be in for several days in the 70s after all. Very nice.

Things are wet and dank still, with some plenty grey skies with some sun here today more south. But the rain yield with what passed through more main yesterday evening and more into overnight at all was only 3 tenths of an inch or so. Basically ground-soaking, but not to much depth.

... A 30 percent change of something more, this evening.

I see it as some people who aren't comfortable joining because of the back and forth.  Granted the Fox 12 blog is weather-lite, kind of like neighbors discussing things over a fence.

"Back and forth" isn't all bad, you know. That's how discussions take place. I mean, if you prefer this could just be a place with nothing but unrelated observations/pics 24/7, and no real discussion. ;) I think there's a healthy balance somewhere between that and endless arguing, and most of the time, this forum actually strikes that balance. But everyone is different, and you can't ever please everyone all the time.

Anyhow, if you look at the posts from the night that blog was referring to, they were pretty clearly making fun of Richard.

South WA/north OR Cascades seeing a ton of snow below 4000', maybe the most since late December? Very good to see...even though most all of it will melt later this week. But at least the higher elevations are increasing their snow pack ahead of the summer.

Just checked the Pass Cams on 26 and it actually looks bare and wet up there.

South Washington Cascades are probably faring better.

Surprised to see it down to 40 degrees here when I got home. For this winter that is top tier!

It's pretty bad and uncomfortable for new people trying to get a word in. I've gotten complaints about being attacked for grammar, for asking "dumb" questions, being harassed for living in Canada, not posting enough PDX weather, being a site funded by climate skeptics or banning Kevin Martin. I've even gotten threats for suspending 100% of our Maryland members.

If you want back and fourth, then be ok with me telling you to move it to a new thread.

Yeah, I think all of that illustrates my point: no matter what, you can't please everyone all the time. And some people have a really thin skin. I've been a part of many, many internet forums the past 15 years or so, and there are almost always the same issues. Because people are different.

I have never seen anyone here actually harassed because they were Canadian.

And trust me, as a former mod for years here, there were many times I had to tell people to move it to a new thread - I often did it for them.

A forum for the end of the world.

Mind if I ask who threatened you? I'm sorry if that happened, but I definitely had nothing to do with it.

FWIW, eventually you'll have no Maryland members. Park City, UT awaits. :)

I'm not seeing the point of posting this. Pretty direct jab at Richard.

Hmn. Or that is, says I, .. I see it now. And then. Not something Mr. Nelson [had] had to say regarding / considering "whatever". But more the "responder" "last most"having replied to his commentary. ("Clowns know what they want". Whatever the circumstance. Or situation.)

And an hearty "Yo" to you too, "W7ENK".  Stay tuned for more "Language Lessons".
