Wow... what kind of weather geek are you.

Wishing away snow so you can do other things??

Sound like something I would say... and then get reamed for it on here.

Are you in the Highlands now??

Don't worry. I give equal treatment in my reamings. I think you and Anthony are both tools. ;)

What do you guys think about the precipitation making it all the way up here?

I'm not a huge proponent of all-day arctic cold/lowland snow in the middle of February...it's late enough in the season where I like to see it in the evenings/morning. :)  Kind of ridiculous, huh?

I live in the Talus area...very new...they are building like crazy over here.  Elevation is probably about 500 feet or so.  Any snow/ice accumulation would essentially mean I'm trapped up here in my Honda accord. :)  I moved further south because of work (I've been down in Renton with Boeing for over a year now), and for school sakes (straight shot on I-90 to Seattle University).  Issaquah seemed like a good area...heard good things about it from other friends who live over here.  And I'm liking it so far.

Anyway, I think my location (for the Puget Sound region) is in a good spot...east of the city...higher elevation...I wouldn't be surprised to see a few inches tonight.

I've got my 6 pack ready to go as I watch this thing evolve. ;)

OK... I don't get back there very much but I remember thinking there was tons of construction when I drove by last time.

We are always in the Highlands now... that area just exploded in the last year.

Yea, the Highlands is getting kind of ridiculous if you ask me.  It's way over-crowded now.  It's almost like its a distinct city within Issaquah.

Anyway, we should grab a beer sometime...when you're in Issaquah.

BTW, I think North Bend is going to score tonight...I could easily see 2 - 4 inches...if not more.

This area is just getting crazy, and the real estate is going through the roof.

At the Olympia airport you can see the wall of snow down the runway.

I was JUST looking at that and showed my son... referring to it as a 'wall of snow'.

It looks like the northward progression has slowed at least a little over the last hour. Moving more east now.

Movement to the north is slowing it looks like.

Hmm.. I guess radar watchers have good observation skills.

Anyone planning to go anywhere right now in the PDX area, don't. I just got back and the roads are very quickly turning into a disaster. I'm at about 50% ZR and 50% sleet and things are just glazing over in ice very quickly. Windows and cars and everything is getting coated in ice. I wonder where this warm layer is...

But notice the backfill off the coast.  That's probably the most important thing.  As long as that feature keeps progressing north, I think areas south of Everett will do fine.

Now, with that said, this won't be a huge event.  1-3 inches across the Seattle metro seems realistic.  I'm not expecting some ground-breaking 3 - 6 inches.  Need to be realistic.

Just looking at the SEA radar... looks like it hit the wall.

But the coastal radar makes me feel much better.

I have 2 kids watching the radar with me now.  :)

My point exactly. I think precipitation will reach Seattle, but the question is whether it can progress another 60 miles north.
