This is frustrating. As the energy moves in from the west, it looks very promising. It's a typically favorable track for Iowa. It wants to eject ene and pull deep moisture up into Iowa. However, the flow over the upper midwest won't allow it. The moisture will run into a brick wall as it tries to lift north and then the energy will get squashed eastward or even ese by the upper flow.

Brutal run for the big I-95 cities. Not saying this will be right, but just posting to show that there are no guarantees in any pattern. At least coastal NC/SC cash in!

I don't trust CO lows in January, I'd honestly rather bank on clippers until February. Suppression tends to be far too wicked in January. Which is why I'm pissed off (putting it lightly) about the lack of snowcover we have here.
