That’s one brutally frigid Arctic airmass! This is what I think is going to happen. Over the next few days the models will converge on a backdoor Arctic Blast solution. But as we get closer to the event, it will trend colder as the models get a better handle of how cold this airmass really is. There is no stopping some of that Arctic air to penetrate west with that much amplification of the ridge the EURO is showing.
