And I don't think a wall will be built. That was my one big negative about him after the primaries. If he uses tax money to fund it, there goes his base. Honestly, he shouldn't have brought up the wall idea in the first place during his campaign. I don't think there will be any way of getting out of that mess without losing at least some of his base. Whether it be by not building the wall, or using tax money. I know I'll be pissed if he uses tax money.

Look at what Trump does - he builds things - hotels, resorts, golf courses, etc.  I think it was just a natural reflex reaction to say "we're gonna build a wall" with little thought into what that really meant or how that could realistically happen. Trump shoots at big targets or he doesn't even bother taking aim. I personally will cut him some slack if he made an "oops" wrt his campaign rhetoric about this portion of immigration reform.

Obama was a slick speaker/orator and came across as someone you could admire but his actions were often contrary to many peep's core values. Even most Africans didn't support or approve of his social agenda. Trump's his own worst enemy when it comes to projecting an approvable image, but he genuinely tries to make things happen with good intentions to improve America in traditional ways.

The only sheeple are the ones who oppose Trump. Aka THE SWAMP and the globalist scum who desire a one world govt.

Do you know what drain the swamp actually means? Never mind don't bother answering that. Another classic example of believing what he says vs actually seeing what he does.

He's done nothing but remove regulations on Wall Street and other banking institutions. How quickly people forget what happened in the Great Recession.

His cabinet is full of billionaires and Wall Street swamp people who have a wealth 30x more than any other cabinet and then he goes and gives them all the largest tax breaks.

He claims he is going to take on drug prices but then puts a Big Pharma exec in charge who has spent his entire career raising drug prices and ripping people off.

DC lobbying was the highest it's been in 7 years in 2017.

I can go on and on....

The reason why they got the "largest" tax breaks on paper is because they had to pay an insane amount before. EVERYBODY got a tax break. That's a benefit I like to call, "keeping your money."

You're one of the few smart ones apparently. I'm going to have to disagree with you on this. His base will never leave him no matter what. Most of them are like snowlover. They don't care how that stupid thing gets built and who pays for it. Hell I bet snowlover would pay for your portion of the wall. Not to mention most of his base believe that by slapping tariffs, that is how Mexico is going to pay for the wall. All that is going to do is to raise prices on the goods which means we all pay more anyway. Look at what happened to LG. They had a tariff put on their washing machines and promptly raised the prices.

He put a tariff on parts for solar panels and immediately several companies had to respond. One had to put a multi million dollar investment on hold here in the US and another said up to 23k American jobs would be lost because of the tariffs.

I simply don't get how we would get Mexico to pay for it, why he thought saying they would pay for it was a good idea, & why his core supporters believed that they would pay for it. Are we gonna start a war with them or something over it?

@ the bolded, most of his supporters are not dumb. They just have differing opinions from you.

You don’t know about politics or the weather it seems. Trump isn’t perfect but he’s better than Hillary would ever be and that’s a fact. The economy is in much better shape now than this time last year and the tax cuts are only going to help.

Liberals love when people have to depend on the govt and hate when hard working people get more money in their paychecks (my last paycheck was $100 more) that’s almost 2,000 dollars more in income just on changing the withholding

I love how people aren't willing to overlook Trump's admittedly thin-skinned personality and instead look at what he's done in just his first year. Trump cares about the individual American citizens looking to pursue a dream. Obama didn't.

Everyone's always going to have their own criteria or standards of what they want in a president. I know I am never going to change your opinion, just like you'll never change mine. ;)

I'm never going to support that racist, bigoted, xenophobic, sexist, p*ssy grabbing, cheating on wife with a porn star and paying money to keep her quiet, inciting violence at his rallies, in bed with Russia, lying more than any president ever, throwing out insults, ignoring the Constitution and normal decency, child of a man, even if I'm making a few more bucks in my 401k. Which by the way it'll be hilarious to watch this bubble burst and what his excuse will be then.

That and I disagree with almost all of his policies as a politician too.

People can't stop talking about the stock market and 401k, yet the majority of this country have neither. 80% of the stock market is owned by the top 10% richest people. Only about 1/2 of all Americans have stocks. Only about 1/3 of all people in the US have a 401k.

It's amazing how quickly people forget how BAD of a situation our country was in economically in 2008, and where we were when he left office. Look at the stock market, unemployment, jobs created, etc. All the things that people want to give him credit for, yet won't do the same for Obama. Trump said he was going to be the greatest job creator ever, yet last year was the lowest number of jobs created in years. People talk about not liking Obama as a person, yet look at what this guy has said and done in the election and now in office. Hell Evangelicals think he should get a mulligan on cheating on his 3rd wife, just months after his child was born.

At any rate, that's all the further I am going to comment on this with you. I always want to keep politics and something I love(weather) separate, but seem to get sucked in on this from time to time. We Nebraska peeps have to stick together when it comes to our weather even if we disagree on politics!

GDP was 1.6% in 2016. 8 years after Obama took office and we are still going to blame Bush?

And in 2014 and 2015?   Will be fun to watch this argument go in circles

The point is that the economy wasn’t growing. 1.6% is god awful and the job numbers were pretty meh overall. Wages were not rising either unlike this past year.

Compensation grew to the highest level since 2008

I’m always on the fence with politics. I don’t agree with everything republicans say, nor do I agree with everything democrats say. It’s shitty because look what this ‘labeling’ has done for our country. It’s literally created a massive divide amongst us, because everyone is so entitled to believe what they say is right, rather than compromising when they’re wrong, or even listening for that matter. When I ask a republican or democrat for their opinions on a topic, I actually listen and make my own judgements. It’s sick how 9 times out of 10, talks between the two parties just spark some shitty debate where no one listens, they talk over each other, and no matter what, if you side with one or the other you’re either a racist bigot, or a feminist cuck libtard. Idk. It sucks haha I wish everyone would just get a grip and start listening rather than talking.

Too many egomaniacal liberals in the world with inferiority complexes. Such a horrible mixture of personalities. The only awful side effects I have seen of having Trump as president are that towns like mine are going to die over the rest of the next 7 years. Growth and real opportunity in other places for the first time in a decade kinda does that. I wish a liberal could show me a real factual reason to hate Trump. I want to find as many reasons as possible to really find a common ground and agree with them and I cannot. I also want to try to dislike the congressman who makes his home a mile from my house for all of the pure evil legislation that he has supported but I really can't. I want him to mess up so I can call his flaws but I can't. The only thing I've seen is a guy who had to literally wait almost until he gave up to actually get to finally make a difference. I just wish I could see all of this real damage that Trump and the Republican monsters have caused in my life and I can't. I'm a fault finder by nature and the only chaos, evil, destruction, (all stuff universally associated with awfulness, doesn't matter who does it) all seems to come from one side. All the crying, obstruction, major cities being destroyed, etc is not a Republican thing and never has been. Am I wrong or just really that blind? So, wait, we go back to Russia and sexual immorality? I didn't know that there was morality associated with sex in the world of Democrats. Either all is permissible or it isn't, right? They can't decide whether they identify as a plant, a dog, a man or woman or both but global warming is killing everyone. Sure of that part though right? That makes for some sketchy science if you ask me. They don't know whether to dress women like ******* or put 20 of them in government. Color me confused but I couldn't imagine why. Must be Trump's fault that I'm confused. Hasn't done one horrible or evil thing he was supposed to. Ive been looking for all the flaws and can't find them. That's really confusing. Lol.

I suppose you slept through "Operation Iraqi Freedom"; the Code Name for the Genocide between the Tigris & Euphrates.

Not to mention all the Americans who came back w/o arms, legs, or both...or didn't come back at all.

Eh, only a million or so lives were destroyed; in full or in part...as long as it wasn't mine!  Hey, how's my 401K doin'?

Memories are short on this planet.

A good stock market and all is forgiven by the Rabble.

I detest both major parties; and thus cannot allow history to be re-wriiten on behalf of either.

At least we neutralized those "Weapons of Mass Destruction"!  Lol.

Like the Truth even matters anymore on Planet Brainwash...

Conform!  Believe!  Obey!  And, Most Important of All, Purchase!

The Greatest Country in the World is slowly but steadily devolving into the Land of the Fee and the Home of the Slave.

It did not start with Trump; and truth be told; he has actually done some things I agree with.

But to exculpate the GOP of any wrong-doing is so absurd it is obscene; their crimes against the People are just as profound as their Opposition; in some cases; more so.

I liked this thread better when Alabama sucked.

Maybe we can discuss how bad Brady and bellicheck are next.
