I had a 30°/39°F yesterday, today the low was 27.5°F. Beautiful day!

I had 43 yesterday... looks like NB got up to 48.    Certainly was cold this morning... but not as much frost as I expected given the dry air.

We were 45/30 yesterday. Hit the low just before midnight, SLE did the same in terms of an 11:59 low. Always nice to get a 2 for 1.

I also remember teens last year in March. Good that you haven't seen a torchy March in a handful of years.

Eugene: 25 ties record from 1935

Redmond, OR: 5 breaks record of 9 from 2019

Also set a record low before midnight last night of 12 breaking the record of 13 set in 2009 and 2013.

Today in 2019 I had 6.2" inches of snow fall swiftly in a single morning! Schools in downtown KF closed, which is pretty rare for them. NWS only called for a couple inches in that storm.

They typically don't close school in under 1 foot accumulations, so they probably just didn't plow key streets in time for the kids.

On the right morning near the Summer solstice you can see the first hints of orange around 3:20 or so. 48°N will do that to you 🙃

Some people apparently want that to be 220AM.

Both the Euro and GFS show about 4 feet of snow at Snoqualmie Pass in the next 10 days. Should be a nice long Spring skiing season if that comes close to happening.

Thinking I might need to leave a little early today and convert my plow back into a mower and mow before the endless rains come!

Winter's last breath? There are differing numbers but I think the 2-4 inches in NE KY Euro is showing could be closer to reality. Generally southeast section of the state has been getting more snow than my part of the area. A good chance Ashland doesn't see the higher end of the spectrum on snowfall as that hasn't been the case so far in previous storms. I bet the higher elevations and less populated towns get around 8" or over.

Snow is never done in March. These days it’s a vastly more reliable winter month than December.

Sometimes April is too.

winter feels done, imo in the valleys at least.

although it does feel like a year we would have a freak late season snow storm in late April

We will be due for an April 2008 redux in about 20 years.

We’re about to say goodbye to the polar vortex until September.

(Note these are anoms at 10mb which don’t translate to the surface..IE there won’t be a giant ridge in western Canada).
