12/26 - 12/29 Potential Wintry & Wet Winter Storm

Probably will be us here in Milwaukee.  Would much prefer the snow, but I guess after all the cold rain we've had this month, I'll accept the ice (though I think sleet will be the more predominant precip type thankfully).

Would be interesting getting inches of sleet. A very unique situation with the significant dynamic cooling predicted and strong northeast flow.

Like WildWisconsin mentioned, if we are to get sleet if no snow, bring it....it would be a seriously bad combo having freezing rain with high winds.  Power outages galore.  No bueno.

Yeah, even though standard is a 3:1 ratio, at least sleet can accumulate and appears as snow.  The only annoying thing is the crackling sound as they ping off windows/windshields.

If anyone hasn't looked at Jim Flower's fb page you need to. Not that he's always right, but his video posts give great insight. His latest is pretty interesting. Explains why he thinks the low will pass through sw ia. For us in eastern neb, I hope he's right

No models are showing it passing thru sw IA anymore, are they?

Jim is using his own science on where he thinks it will be. Fascinating but who knows if it verifies

That low he was drawing on the map would be an ULL. That's 700mb. ... or even 500mb.

Jim flowers says all but bet the farm that eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa get clocked

Lol, he's betting the farm!

You would still get clocked if the low went like this.

Trying get it to the east GEOS? 995 by hour 72...

I think it's going to come back east of the river on later runs. EURO did that on the November snowstorm, wandered on its original track and then came back.

Ever since the busts last year with the EURO, I've been cautious with it 72-96 hours out.
