The GEM got the track right for the November storm first. RGEM followed suit. NAM snow amounts came true and then some in the hardest hit areas. Euro had the least clue about the track.

 

I remebered one thing just now, the NAM likes to trend NW because it overdoes the convection.

Big differences between WxBell and IWXM.  Some of this on WxBell could be sleet perhaps.  It's a very fine line.

weatherbell seems to suffer the same issue with snowfall maps as tropical tidbits. counting all frozen precipitation as snow.

 

kind of funny how a free site like instantweathermaps has more accurate snow maps than a paid site

I looked at the upper air temps throughout and Iowa city and Cedar Rapids don't quite get above 0. So on this run they are just on the right side for more snow than ice. It's very close though.

I would really start feeling good if only the darn GFS would come more in line with the Euro. Then again, I have to coach in a holiday tournament and I don't want that getting pushed back or cancelled because of weather. Tough to figure out what to root for!

RPM is south of GFS. 2-4" in NE IL. Most of Iowa looking good. About 5" on Milwaukee.
