Snowman5678
Just got back from running errands in Bellevue. It was flurrying there most of the time but as soon as I got back only my hill the snow increased dramatically. Some accumulations but not much so far. Pretty big flakes. Hoping this dry slot sliding in from the south doesn't last too long.
HighlandExperience
The big question is what will happen with the moisture tonight. Still straight snow here. The east wind is certainly helping here. What do you think about tonight?

Perturbed Member
Interesting quirk of the local terrain. I'm hoping that being in Washington County will be in my favor this time around. Still 29 and the next band of precip is inching closer. Yeah this seems to happen often. Mark Nelsen wrote about this yesterday: "Models are showing a warm layer (above freezing) pushing north up the valley during the afternoon/evening hours as part of the cold airmass is eroded away west of the Cascades. I see a signature on the models I’ve seen before with the warm “nose” pushing north into the metro area late in the day mainly east/south sides away from the Columbia River. So if trends remain the same, snow should change to ice pellets and/or freezing rain first down around Marion County and then into Clackamas County (Silverton/Molalla/Oregon City/Estacada etc..). The rest of us in the metro area would stay in snow longer…possibly through the entire event. " Seems that west metro should stay snow. SilverFallsAndrew
It will be interesting to see what temps do as we head toward the 3-5pm range. Do they stay steady/increasing slowly or do they start slowly dropping a degree or two. I have a feeling places like Salem and Eugene will be around 33-34 by morning. Places that keep the gorge wind will probably drop a couple degrees overnight. The east wind is now pretty much gone at PDX.
