Sounds horrible.  I had no idea that could happen from a cat scratch.  The cat might have had something nasty on its foot at the time.

Our cats panicked when we were evacuating for the 2020 labor day fires. My wife got her arm ripped open and once we got out had to go to urgent care to get things squared away. Cat caused injuries are pretty nasty, but cats are a necessity for rodent control if you live in the country, especially if you live in the country and keep livestock.

Smoke, smoke, smoke.  Smoke everywhere.  Super thick out in Wenatchee today (and has been for about two months now).  They must be so sick of it.  It's also looking exceedingly dry.  

Air qualité for the Puget Sound is on a downward trend the past few hours.  It is about to get much worse in the coming hours.  A thick plume of smoke recently spurted from Bolt Creek.  So conditions will worsen in Snohomish County until the winds carry it south into King County.

It's pretty crazy. Every time a jet extension looks to form it gets cutoff. I really do think that the only way we are breaking this pattern is by retrogression at this point.

What are your thoughts on the prospects of this being made up for a bit down the road?

Very hazy here this morning.  This is just ridiculous.

The good news is most GFS runs like the idea of a big -PNA episode coming up.

I went to Liberty yesterday and almost zero color on the trees.  Pretty much unheard of this late in the season.  I've seen that place drop into the mid 20s in August some years.

There seems to be a theme of a little warning trough, a quick return of the ridge, and then a big retrogression.

The Seattle area has it good in terms of smoke compared to the areas north of Hwy 2.     

Also a surprising lack of low clouds even along the WA coast.

Wow that looks bad in the north Sound. Here it's getting pretty bad too but not that bad, the AQI was 113 here earlier.
