TT-SEA
Looks like the snow is finally done here, the outflow winds are kicking in a bit more and it's cooled down a little. I estimate there's been a little over 7" since it began Sunday night. A few more pictures from this morning: Nice pics! You really have some different looking trees there. North_County
Beautiful clear, snowy morning. But the outflow is still causing snow to drift over the highways in the exposed areas (2nd picture). If I had to choose I would take the February 2014 every time. 6-15" snowfall totals with highs in the low 20s. Really a very very underrated event IMO. The Feb 2014 event was miles better down here than anything that I've seen this winter. I had around 14 inches of snow fall over about 3 days. Maximum depth got to 9". Monroe and Corvallis really got nailed. The Dec storm from that winter was also terrific. Total snow that winter was 20", which was the highest since 92-93 I believe. I'm not like some folks here that really like the cold without snow. To me, it's useless and annoying without snowfall or snow cover and my utility bills have been quite high. In fact, the weenie in me is a bit disappointed in this winter overall after seeing so many areas get historic storms (Medford, Portland, parts of the PS area, Southern BC, etc). What we never got was a nice, cold arctic low come down the BC coast and spin in snow all the way to Medford, giving everyone the goods. MR.SNOWMIZER
Any hope for a snowy start to this warm up tomorrow? Yes. The mm5 is now showing some snow for hood canal and south to shelton and capital forest. Would not surprise me of some places get a decent over running event. The increased outflow and lower depoints today could set the stage. 1 Quote We come from the land of the ice and snow.
