My son is home for break but still going to work in Seattle on a few days.  I told him this morning that the snow will start tomorrow afternoon or evening.   He left for work about 20 minutes ago and just called me from Issaquah to tell me its snowing hard and I don't know anything.    Smart kid.

It’s really hard to say what’ll happen but I think our best shot is tomorrow night. With what’s going on right now it’s possible today but I think most of the people precip will be north of Seattle.

I'm not holding my breath for snow much south of I-90.  I think we are being blocked by the Olympics.  Anything is possible though.

Hmmmm.  Just noticed the ECMWF did pick up on this moisture and it shows it moving south during the day.  I didn't pay much attention earlier because I thought it would be rain today. I wonder.

Yeah we have multiple chances in the coming days…it’s a good sign overall for us down the road that places are already getting snow. Gonna be chilly here today though!

Some places will see a dramatic flash freeze during the day tomorrow, assuming they even stay above freezing tonight. EC is all in on this up here, I don't think they even went this cold with last December's blast -

I was not expecting this thing to start with rain in Bellingham and snow in Seattle.

Decent snow in North Issaquah. Sticking to trees and grass. Not sticking to the road yet. Surprise! 

 

Anyone want to take bets on how long it will take me to find parking at Issaquah Costco on a Saturday afternoon 8 days before Christmas while it's snowing? Will they even have food left once I make it inside?

Already 28F and snowy in Hope. It's pretty interesting to go from a below freezing surface inversion right into snow like that as the upper levels drop below freezing. Looks like it's trying to snow here in Victoria now. Seeing a few flakes mixed in, even though it's still 35.7F.

So far I haven’t had to rely on this one who is following me around as of late but I could yield really quickly with the models doing their dance.

EURO didn't look all that different compared to yesterday's 12z-- I don't like the insistence on a decently disruptive ice storm but the pattern does favor it. A half an inch of ice ain't no slouch though

Nothing here in south Everett, been staring out my window for like an hour now lol. Who knows, maybe this will be a good preview for where the PSCZ will set up tomorrow
