Geos
Not even a hint of frost or even moisture here after 24 hours of a brisk, drying east wind... Here is was dead calm this morning. I imagine this will be a rinse and repeat cycle until the ridge breaks down and lets an onshore flow back in. Gradient Keeper
12z CMC still not running as of 10 AM PDX-DLS now nearing -12mb, stronger than modeled and showing no signs of weakening. Jesse
If you count Youtube channels as "news sites", then I'm sure The Young Turks is one of the biggest players. I personally like Jacobin Magazine though. Sure it has a slant....but it's honest and open about what its perspective is, and more importantly? The writers do a good job showing why the socialist perspective matters in today's world: jacobinmag.comHey Bonner, were you at Crown Point yesterday? Front Ranger
Hard for me to imagine how surface temps in Idaho and Montana would be above normal with those height anomalies. Front Ranger
For what it's worth, I think way too much is being made of the Kona low. It's a resultant piece of a large puzzle during blocking patterns. Yeah, it's a classic piece of the puzzle that occurs as the result of blocking being 145W to 160W, basically. But it's often mis-identified as any low pressure area in the general region north of Hawaii. Quote A forum for the end of the world.

Jesse
One potential trend we are seeing is that the overall pattern stays blocky even after the western ridge breaks down. That can’t be a bad sign.
