Clinton
EAX seems more bullish on the storm than what most of the models except for the NAM say they should be. Wednesday night and Thursday: By the evening, attention will turn to a quickly approaching shortwave bringing a strong cold front with it through the overnight. Models continue to agree that precipitation will arrive to the area around sunset Wednesday in the northeast, then gradually move to the southeast. The associated cold front will make a push into the area overnight eventually dropping temperatures across the area to well below freezing. Expect precipitation to start as snow in far northwest Missouri, but further south we can expect to start as rain or a rain/snow mix. As the cold front pushes to the south, we should see a gradual transition to all snow across the area by Thursday morning. Temperatures Thursday morning will be around 15 to 25 degrees. Snowfall will move out by late morning, but chilly temperatures will remain. Highest accumulations are expected north and west of I-35. There is potential for at least 4 inches of snow in these areas. Farther south, the KC Metro can expect up to 2 inches. Some on the north side of the metro could see slightly higher amounts. South and east of the Metro can expect a dusting up to 1 inch.
