Marshall looking all the part of serious winter again this evening, complete with a bank of pristine white snow down the middle of main street. The bitter cold temps are keeping it locked in place and with the cold ground underneath it's actually not settling from warmth like earlier in the season. With a few more tenths this evening we're almost back to the look before the Tue-Wed mess

Down to -6F on this bitter cold morning...LOT has issued a SWS for the light snow that is expected to develop later this afternoon....might score another 1" out of this and add to the beautiful landscape.

...Light Snow Expected Again Late This Afternoon Into Mid
Evening...

Light snow will spread across much of northern Illinois and
northwest Indiana during the mid to late afternoon into the mid
evening. The snow will last a few hours or so at any one location.
While the snow will be light with accumulation of under one inch,
the cold temperatures will allow any snow to stick and make for
slick travel on area roads.

Plan for possible extra travel time during the later afternoon
into mid evening.

Getting some fatass flakes outside right now. All the accumulations stayed to the North of here last night but I'm hoping we can at least get SOMETHING out of this small area of 25 dBZ returns on radar. 21.7*F.

Chicago has been doing pretty good w snow lately. If it snows at ORD today, that will make it the 10th straight day. WOW! I have a cousin who lives right in the city and was told about it. Talk about an active stretch of Winter.

12k NAM keeps flakes flying here for about 12 hrs! The stronger this wave, the better chance with a south track for the main event

Sunny skies currently w a temp of 14F. Somehow, I feel this is balmy, considering what "Siberian Express" has to offer next week.

Might be the heaviest snow I’ve seen all year falling now.

Yeah, a spot of yellow went right over you on radar.  The brighter green up here has been moderate to heavy.  I had over an inch 20 minutes ago.

season snowfall: 34.8"

'22-23: 30.2"      '21-22: 27.1"      '20-21: 52.5"      '19-20: 36.2"      '18-19: 50.2"      '17-18: 39.5"

Average snowfall: ~30"

This clipper is really something. I wasn’t expecting much. Moderate to heavy snow has been falling since about 10:00am, and its still coming down. Roads are partially to mostly covered with snow. I haven’t measured yet but I’d say we have at least 1.5”, maybe even 2”.

Still snowing, and have a little over an inch currently. Was not expecting that today!

Apparently my office isn't "expecting it" either. If the 18z NAM's correcct, they gonna bust hard with there
