Yep still winter, eh? As you can see from the map Tom posted, the snowless zone which now extends right up to my front porch, lol makes we ready to just call it a season and move onto spring already. We're right on the verge of "go big or go home" for this guy. Good luck tho, maybe the Fri-Sat thing will re-ignite, just not holding my breath on it attm

Thanks amigo. If I get a couple more snowevents right b4 March 20th or on, then, I will be a happy camper. Hopefully, I get to average snowfall for the season. I shouldn't be that far off currently, which, I believe is 44.1" on a yearly average in the Detroit Metro Area and 47.2" in Macomb, where I am at.

Currently at 22F and some snow is melting in the sun now. Wow. That goes to show you how much stronger that sun angle is getting.

I thought the same thing yesterday when I was outside cleaning up after our blizzard. It was only 15 degrees with a breeze, but actually didn't feel that bad bc of the strong sun.

I know what ya mean. This time of the year, it could be 10F outside and if standing in the sun directly, it can feel fairly pleasant, whereas, total different situation say, D or J.

I prolly could have posted this in the Blizzard thread since this came down during that storm Saturday night. Its larger than the pic shows. Luckily it landed on the ground and just kinda fell against the deck. Although I had to saw part of it so it didn't pull on the railing when I moved it away from the deck. It left just a small scratch on the railing. Could have been a lot worse! It was difficult walking thru the snow. Idk what the official snow depth is but it seemed to be about a foot and a half. And there is a layer of crust. Difficult to get through.

Exactly. It can be frigid in late February, but while being in the sun, it can feel like Spring.

While that is a TON of snow, almost more amazing is GR's Dec 2000 total of 87" down here in SMI

Ofc, to site some other notorious Mitt examples, Petoskey got 84" in 7 days during the LES blitz of Dec '01. Then there's the Dec '95 storm that buried Sault Saint Marie with 60" over a couple day period. In short, you live in a state with many snowier places than Macomb

Tbh, If we didn't lose December and 1/2 of J, it would have been decent enough. Oh well, lets be satisfied w what snow we had so far this Winter. I am hoping I get to average snowfall, b4 Winter ends. I am not too far from that, especially w more snows coming for MBY. Who knows, maybe I will exceed my average.

Yeah, it's very possible. SEMI traditionally does better at the end of winter vs Nov/Dec. Heck, if the GFS has a clue, I'll get another 8" here by Sunday. Any big storm hits here by chance, and the grade for this season will improve substantially in my book. Here's to hoping Tom's positivism finally works for us too.

Not really much to observe. Full sun when overcast was expected. No big deal, at least the sun will get more of this crap off the roads without melting a lot of snow where it actually belongs. 14.9*F

We were supposed to hit 15 today, we are stuck at 8 with some snow flurries.  Fortunately, the wind is light so it doesn't feel as bad as yesterday and last night.

With an average temperature of 19.4*F, this is now the 10th coldest February on record for Lincoln. We'll likely move up a couple more spots. We'd have a shot at 2nd or 3rd if it wasn't for the megatorch to open up the month.

The mean February temp here in 1936 was 8.2*F. That's a good 5 degrees colder than the 2nd coldest February here.

Getting a surprise flurrystorm right now. Nothing on radar so this is probably the best we'll get. Roads are bad enough anyway, I guess. 13.5*F.

Pretty decent sized flakes falling now actually, about marble sized. Light dusting on the roofs. Still not showing up on radar. I'd say this is moreso light snow rather than flurries now. 12.4*F.

Another 3” yesterday and last night brings MSP to 39” for the month, 19” otg after compaction of previous snowfalls. It’s too bad Feb only has 28 days. If the models are correct, we’d have a shot at reaching the all-time monthly record with Friday’s system.

I had to settle for 3rd best Nov, while just 12 miles to my NW, Battle Creek scored all-time #1 so I know how you're feeling. Good luck Friday!

Thanks man, and still coming down. It actually got a bit more moderate. By looking at the radar, I am thinking by 300pm or so it should finally taper off. I might be getting closer to 3.5".

I think we're finally done with snow this month. To say it's one for the ages is putting it mildly. Two foot depths across the northern half of Wisconsin. The weekend of Feb 2-3 saw upper 30's and rain. Then the switch flipped! Just look at the truly remarkable turnaround from Feb 4th!!! Medford 1" to 30.6", Eau Claire 0.2" to 22", Wis. Rapids 2.8" to 23.8". I could go on and on with charts and graphs but I think you get the point. After having essentially nothing all Dec-Jan and catching up in a matter of weeks.

Cleared the driveway off and with the sun filtered thru the clouds it is not all that bad outside. And yes there is melting in in non shady areas. As of today the sun's angle and length of day is the same as around November 6th Here at my house I had 1.3" of new snow overnight and now have a good snow cover of 6.5" the current temperature here is now at 28.6

The official snow fall totals as of February 26th at GRR for February 19.3" since December 1st 53.0" and for the season GRR is now officially at 67.4"

  At Marquette as of February 26^th they have had 87.3” of snow fall. since December 160.7” for the season they are now at 202.2” While this is well below the record for Marquette of 319.8” in the 2001/02 season it is still good for 18 place up there. The current snow depth of 49” is down from the 53” on February 24^th That 53”  on the ground on the 24^th is the 2^nd deepest snow depth reported at Marquette the most was 63.3” on March 15^th 1997 (in March of 1997 Marquette also had snow depts of 60” March 16^th 58” on the 17^th 56” on the 18^th and 54” on the 19^th before reaching 53” on the 20^th The snow depth did not fall below 10” until April 17^th and there was still a trace on April 30^th in fact a trace was reported up to May 2^nd and Marquette had 9.1” of snow in May of 1977 It did get up to 81° on May 31^st

Our front blew in like a wall of wind.  Winds at 21mph gusting. Typical Blue Norther for No. Texas.

50* and dropping the next few days.  Lows beginning Saturday will be 32* dropping to 24* Tues. 

Highs will be 38*-40*

 

Rain Sunday.

 

So, it's still winter.
