3K NAM shows the snow being very banded. Lots of snow right over PDX though! And some bands in the east valley.

3km NAM has it starting to switch to snow here by 7 PM tomorrow

Through 10am Monday. Another model showing 4-5" here... Great for PDX, Salem up the east side of the valley does nice with a snow band....

A truly regional event is shown on the 00z WRF for later this week.

 

While obviously specifics can and will change, there is pretty remarkable agreement among models for being this far out.

NAM is really cold for the Puget Sound region during the day Monday. Mid 20s at 1pm.

I was just thinking about the Christmas snow we had last winter and how the Euro absolutely nailed that thing.  Most models had very little moisture while the Euro indicated a significant snow event.  It was right.  This time the GFS and UKMET are pretty solidly on board also.  I think the Seattle area should be good for 1 to 3 inches and maybe 2 to 5.

That convergence in the North Sound has been pretty consistently shown on the 3km NAM.

ICON still looks nice for Central Puget Sound Monday AM.

12z WRF ensemble snowfall mean was a nice improvement for the EPSL over the 00z from last night.

 

Darrington, Tolt, North Bend, Chester Morse Lake.. Even Lake Sammamish all increased totals by 1-2 inches or more.

Southerly flow there for Portland. That looks like 500' sticking snow to me, and unfortunately it's also a tad warmer/drier with the late Monday stuff.

 

I'm thinking trace-1" is going to be a good call for us folks south of Longview under 500'.

It's really hard to imagine more than that other than an isolated location.

The Thursday system is a little weak and meandering on the 06z GFS. Doesn't look like a big low land snow producer. At hour 126 some colder air starting to approach the border.

31f up here in Chilliwack wind is gusty from the Northeast, temps in B.C's interior are way colder than forecasted bodes well I suspect for you guy's let's hope.

Very cold trough around Valentine's day. The 06z has MUCH more snow south of PDX than the 00z. Still looks great for PDX and north.
