Thing is we are now talking about this thing getting started in 3.5 days. Euro is deadly accurate at this range and once the pattern begins it very well just might do what is shown or close to it.

Euro not likely to improve from this of course, but it's been trending nicely and more in favor of what the EPS has shown.

How much snow does it show for you? Unless you have a flat roof, I wouldn’t worry about it. Our rotting, 35yr old roof withstood 5+ feet on it for a week back in 2010, so you should be fine.

Well tomorrow I'm headed out of town for a month to the least likely spot in the country you'd expect someone from Eugene Oregon to go to. I'm sure I'll miss out on the best winter since 1969.

Can't ask for a much more promising pattern regionally, though. Specific details aside, if the large-scale features are close for the next 10 days, pretty much everyone will score.

 

No way to know where the "jackpot" areas will be at this point...probably better off relying on what's happened historically with these type of patterns.

True. Is there anyway to see what the BLI gradient will be Friday through Saturday? Yesterday's AFD had it at -29. Did that change?

This, along with the cold that comes before it, would equal a nearly unprecedented stretch for this late in the season.

 

Actually, in the airport era I can't think of any period this late that would equal it.

While we are oogling next week the EURO spit out lows of 22 and 21 the next two nights for SLE, similar in EUG and PDX. Lots of teens in the Puget Sound...

BTW, I mentioned this before, does anyone have any clue as to what the snow ratios would be for your area?  It will be interesting if it is different that the usual 10:1.  I know where I live since it is colder it can be higher.
