Not for Tiger and his lawn mowing!

I like the rain and we need it badly.  Just need the grass to briefly be dry and I can get it done before it gets a foot tall.

Lots of cold dry air pushed through the cascade gaps. That day it also snowed at 40 degrees due to how low the dew point was. Never seen it snow at 40 degrees, just goes to show how dry the air was. It was really impressive seeing and hearing the east winds that night I’ve never seen East winds that strong.

Phil has seen it snow at 55. With extreme humidity.

Not sure if this is a joke haha if not that is an amazing phenomenon that I did not know was possible.

I often can't tell difference between the ones you hate and the ones you think look nice.

I see a wet period coming up and then a much drier period with near normal temps... that looks nice to me as well.   But I also assume whatever looks nice to me must look horrible to you.

12Z ECMWF shows the pattern at day 10 that I was thinking the EPS mean was showing a couple days ago in the 10-15 day range.

That is a big ULL moving across the SW US and warmer and drier up here.

I would like a link to individual members... because going through each day in the 11-15 day period on the mean it sure looks like a slow moving ULL going through the SW US.     The mean trough steadily moves east each day.

12Z EPS agrees with that same evolution.

And it looks like it wants to build in some ridging by the end of the run...

Not for Tiger and his lawn mowing!

Gives me flashbacks to the 10yrs working at the golf course where unless there was standing water we still mowed in the rain...most likely why I do not like doing anything in the rain anymore.

I actually have seen it snow with temps in the low 50s. It was a late April squall several years back.

It also snowed in a thunderstorm with a starting temperature of ~ 50*F just two weeks ago. Spring tends to do weird stuff like that. ‍♀

Pics or it didn't happen.

Atmosphere has a little instability to it today, have been a few heavy downpour showers here in Tacoma, and there were a couple lightning strikes in the Bellingham area within the past 30 minutes.

Looks wet in the near term then generally cool with more rain chances in the long term. Nice. I took out the rest of the personal nonsense in your post since there is really no point to that.

That I can believe in it’s just hard to wrap my brain around snow at any tempature above 45 degrees. Not calling anyone a liar but I’ve never heard of it snowing at a 50 degree tempature.

Phil has personally witnessed every amazing meteorological phenomenon known to man.

Almost, but not quite. Still need to check tornado, wildfire, and subzero high off the list.

I definitely seen flurries around 45 or 46 with very dry air

In both cases it was an intense convective squall with very steep mid-level lapse rates overcoming a shallow warm layer under strong insolation.

Temps started out in the 50’s but dropped into the 30’s very quickly.

It was dry the entire day in Salem, but ended up with 0.39" of rain here with on and off showers apparently. 1.44" have fallen so far this month, about half of what fell during March.

Wow. I did NOT notice that Forks, WA of all places got only 1.51" of rain this March.

That's 9.32" below normal. Crazy.

Yeah, driest March on record for UIL.

However, their records only go back to 1966 and don't include the very dry 1965, which holds the record for driest March in many PNW locations.

Nearby COOP station Forks 1 E (records back to 1908) recorded 2.60", which was their second driest after 1992. That same station recorded 23.88" just two years ago in March 2017.

The KUIL station had the 3rd wettest December in history... and then the driest March in history.

You know. There is a large herd of elk that lives up here in the Silverton hills. Maybe we should have a wildlife thread. There are two deer grazing my lower pasture as we speak.
