I'm sorry Tim has been stuck in literal hell for the past week, but the weather has been incredibly pleasant down here. A perfect mix of clouds and sun.

And I would be saying the same thing if I lived there.    We don't have different opinions... just vastly different weather in this persistent pattern.

What I’m starting to realize is that the rest of the region has to be near record hot for him to consistently get the summer weather he desires in his cool and damp microclimate.

Can you please tell me where I ever said the weather down there has been really bad down there?    Why do you constantly take my opinion on my weather and apply to areas with very different weather.

Its been unusually persistently dark and gloomy here.    But probably not unusually cold thanks to the warm low temperatures.

Beautiful mostly sunny morning here at Winter Hill.

Looking at the GFS it looks like most of the rain will stay north of us over the next couple weeks. Should be cool with some drizzle at times. About perfect.

Went to Waldport on the Oregon Coast yesterday. Was sunny with calm winds.

Heading up to Windy Ridge on St. Helens today. Should be a gorgeous one.

Sure.  Strawman once again.

The normal high temperature in the Snoqualmie Valley is around 76 right now.   Normal sounds lovely here right now... which should also be normal there.

The recent highs in the valley in NB:

7/2 - 64

7/3 - 66

7/4 - 70

7/5 - 64

7/6 - 67

We also went from 6/18-24 with this:

6/18 - 63

6/19 - 63

6/20 - 66

6/21 - 66

6/22 - 62

6/23 - 59

6/24 - 66

And then factor in a complete lack of sun on most of those days.

Because there has been almost no sun for long periods of time and that is seriously depressing in the summer.  It just is.  I would gladly rain and sun breaks at this point just to get some sun at times.

Tell me how people want a deep trough over us all summer then cry more to me about strawmen.

But don’t worry I understand your point view.

Even Phil slipped up and agreed with common sense when discussing his upcoming trip...  we have had a butt load of "depressing" days here in the last 3 weeks by his standards.

I don’t want it cloudy all day. That would be depressing. Just during the morning and peak heating would be perfect.

Barely anything... that is even worse.   Rain would break things up and provide sun breaks.   Its just the same gloomy crap from sunrise to sunset every day.    Nothing changes.

You want cloudy during the morning and afternoon? You’ve really come around.

That sounds spectacular right now.    Even 2 hours of sun in the evening would be a massive improvement.

Overall it has been cloudy more days than not here since the heat blast on June 12th. Not much rainfall to go with it either we’ve had 0.22” of rain since June 12th which was 25 days ago including today. In those 25 days 15 of them havent even hit 70 degrees here in Tacoma.

Please don't ever tell us again that you've come to terms with your microclimate and don't worry about things you can't change.

You've been insufferable lately. Clearly you can only be at peace with it on your terms, when it cooperates.

There is no reason to spend all this time debating it and have people telling me its been nicer in other areas.  I fully understand that.

This is not normal for my microclimate in July.   A crappy pattern for this area has been stuck for an unusually long time.   Sh*t happens.

I am only responding to people telling me that this is just normal here and its awesome everywhere else and I should expect there to be no sun at all here in the summer.

Not everyone’s gotta love this weather going on. To me I think it’s great but not everyone’s gotta agree with it. Either way half of the people on this forum are going to like or not like the weather pattern at any given moment. If it’s above 80 degrees half the forums mad but if it’s below 75 the other half is upset lol.

And of course we all have different weather.    So we are not even talking about the same thing.

At least an alternating pattern of troughs and ridges would mix it up for everyone.

The patterns have just been locking in for such a long time this year.

That’s true we all live across a large area. Weather is different from city to city or county to county. Some places may have gotten sunshine half of the days the last 4 weeks some maybe only a few days like in north bend. Some places much more rain some less.

Between the ensembles, models, and forcing moving back into the EHEM later in the month (unless Phil is wrong about that one) I doubt we will get out of this cool to downright chilly weather pattern anytime soon. This July’s average high could resemble 2011 or even 1983 once everything is said and done.

It looks like a possibility the way things have been going. Doesn’t look like any change currently for the next 10 days which would already be halfway through the month. The latest gfs run looks like something straight out of October or November with all the rain which is unusual for July.

Arguing with a nutcase always works out.

There is nothing nutty about pointing out a persistently crappy pattern here.    That is just a fact.    The rest is just silly debate... pointless because it does not change anything.

Even 1954 and 1983 were nicer out here during this same week in July.    It was 80 degrees here on the 4th of July in 1983.

Went up to North Bend two days ago and it was depressingly dark there.

We have at least been breaking out into sunshine late afternoon here in Federal Way although yesterday was quite nice out most of the day.

Morning clouds heavy this morning 62* brrrrr

Try that for a week straight... and about 70% of the time during the last 2 weeks of June.    You might take notice.   Its not normally this bad for this long out here.
