Decent amount of morning clouds drifted in around sunrise this morning. Ended up with a low of 53. Partly to mostly cloudy now and 63. Looks like much of the WV is still pretty socked in, nice to see.

Mostly sunny here

I’m sure it’s pretty disorienting not having every single warm season month be 3-7 degrees above average like we’re used to out west.

If we don't get at least 2 weeks of Aqi in 600's up here this summer nobody will know what to do with themselves!

Also weird side note that depicts how backwards the weather has been. Las Vegas hasn't hit 100F since Sept 8th!

We have had periods of chilly troughing and rain in June in most years.   I wouldn't be spiking the football about the entire warm season.    I think a couple cool/wet weeks now sets the stage for a warmer July and August.    We will see.

I don’t see anything indicating a couple of cool wet weeks. Maybe average. Scary I know.

Right now we have a 50/50 chance of not having a top 10 warm June.

2018 is a good example... it was the 60s in the Snoqualmie Valley from June 7-15 (2 days in the 50s in there) and then on 8 of the last 10 days of June.    By my count that is 16 of 23 days from June 7-30.   Definitely not hot.    Then came July.

A second half of June cool/wet period is pretty common.

The false narrative by a couple people on here is that every warm season is wall to wall drought and heat.   Definitely not true.  2018 still ended up hot and smokey but one would not have thought that in late June.

Some of what you say is so specific that it throws me off, like how would you know that's how the marine layer behaves at that time of year? Very observant

Was about to mention that. June gloom BLESSINGS for all around. Even OR into NorCal gets the low level marine #KOLD as well. Wish the rain would expand south of WA tho

Beautiful. I feel like we’ll probably get some sort of rug pull with regards to the cool anomalies, but hopefully still score some rain out of the pattern.

GFS/CMC/Euro/ICON are all adamant on a pretty significant cool spell for this time of year this upcoming weekend. A 1-in-3yr type event west of the Cascades. Perfect balance to the wholly unprecedented warmth of the last month. And you bet we'll be paying dearly for this trough come mid July.

I don't think it was mentioned much, but KSEA squeezing a pair of 56/52 and 62/52 sogfests out of this pattern progression is some pretty efficient #blessing scrounging.

Got the fun things in the water today finally! This also reminds me of my childhood on the lake…A lot of clouds and cool but we went for it anyway! Ducks are enjoying it!

The places with the record breaking heat spells have tended to stay north of 45 N latitude, including the 2010 Moscow one, the 2021 PNW one, and the 2023 Canadian one. Conservation of energy says that the cooler air has to go somewhere and that is often to the south.

That’s..not what conservation of energy means, but whatevs.

I’m not sold it will be a constant cool pattern, but leaning that way on balance (and probably into July). By second week of July the heat odds increase again though.

And I feel you re: kool weather karma. 😆 We’ve been in a generally cool pattern since mid/late April out here, and l’m starting to get a bad feeling there will be payback during the worst part of summer.

Been on Lake Washington near UW with my sons and their girlfriends this afternoon celebrating graduation... now in Kirkland getting gas and then dinner.   Absolutely gorgeous out here.   Been sunny for hours while cloudy just to the east.

Was at a high of only 63 for the day but once the clouds burned off the temp shot up to 68.   Looks like today should still underperform though as the forecast high was 73.

Relative to average. Even in the coolest pattern imaginable it would be impossible to stay below 90°F everyday here.
