Sounds like a great kid. Congrats.

Massive congrats to him 🥳 I graduate soon from UW in the winter for CS/software engineering, hoping to work on the NWS supercomputers if I get lucky.

Yeah... he is literally all the things Andrew would love but he also loves skiing and water sports which makes him evil in Andrew's eyes.    :(

I got nothing to match the beautiful photos posted today.  It was cloudy this morning and only hit 58F until the clouds burned off and it warmed up to 65F here in Everett.  Now it is a beautiful evening, blue skies, and now the sunset is coming.  We're at almost 9pm and the sun hasn't even set yet!  My gosh.

Remember that time I was in DC and invited you to dinner and you bailed. Lol.

I was an all state and college athlete, now I’m old. I’m sure he’s more limber than I. And I’m sure he’s a great guy. Sounds like he’s more like Jesse and I than you. Might want to ask for a paternity test.

He is nothing like Jesse.   Doesn't have any passive-aggressive traits.   That is Jesse's speciality.   He also loves sports.

That is excellent.  Been there 38 years myself.  Some ups and downs but overall it was a good ride and provided a good life for my family.

06z GFS teases at some flurries over the pass next Monday morning. A genuinely chilly airmass (the coldest at our latitude, by far)

It hit me pretty hard last night. It’s felt like summer for a month already, but the long dog days are still ahead of us. Tim is right, we are going to roast. Time to buy a floatie and head to Lake Tapps.

Not much agreement on timing and amounts, but it’s clearly going to be a nice wet period.

Typical for this time of year, the 15 day precip anomaly is basically normal or even a bit below normal.

It looks very typical for June. Standard early summer fare. It only feels significant because of how ridiculously warm and dry the last month and a half have been.

Tell him welcome to the industry.  It's incredibly volatile, but also can be very interesting and exciting.  My son had a few friends go to Boeing and got pretty incredible offers.

Does he know what he will be working on?

Ironically my son told his mother the same thing yesterday when she was bragging him up.   He told her a job is not the measure of a person.    He has had 17 surgeries in his life to deal with something he was born with and he might be the most humble and altruistic person I have ever met.    He far outshines his parents.     But as Andrew said... he is the worst that society has to offer and we should be "embarrassed" presumably because he loves water sports.   :(

00Z EPS as well. I like how the mean stays close to average even into the long range. We may actually be in for a decent week or two of weather before going into the furnace again. Definitely a god send at this point in the season.
