they say late July, I'd bet August unless things get super hot.  I often wonder if they could make it all year?  I guess you need to shut down for a little while in august/sept for maintenance

Northern Oregon Cascades NWS says 4000' snow levels Sunday night.

I thought these clouds were interesting. They remind me of I think of a roll cloud. It's very breezy here and the temperature feels like it's falling too.

I was planning on just hiking in it, but if 6-8” somehow does fall, I’ll have to go skiing. Generally don’t ski on fresh snow this time of the year due to hidden rocks/obstacles underneath.

Ended up with a 65/57 spread here today so far, but expect it could go a little lower by midnight.

A solidly cooler than expected day (for once) with morning marine clouds, then a beautiful partly cloudy and breezy afternoon with some very neat looking, rippling cloud formations. My brother sent me this video from a nearby park earlier.

70 degrees and overcast. AQI is at a 3 so very good in the green. Today was a good temperature and looks like the next few will be even cooler. Happy Almost Father's Day to those who are dads. We don't really celebrate M/F Days but my dad is a great dad/grandpa. It was a nice day on the Palouse for the Moscow Farmer's Market.

Hey you will get a vacation finally! Please post pictures. Lots of friends of mine have taken their first cruise this year. I've never gone but my spouse and son are doing a cruise up in BC. Is Rubious (?) still on the board. I'm blanking on his user name but he's named for a berry that he likes. Kind of his territory.

In fact even if you take away Ulaanbaatar Lake County is still emptier!

I'll try to figure out a way to justify the four hour drive from Bend eventually.

In addition to remote desert locations like Steens Mountain and Hart Mountain, the Massacre Rim WSA in the extreme NW corner of Nevada is one of the ten International Dark Sky Sanctuaries located within the US. I doubt the skies at Steens and Hart Mountain are much less clear though. Steens seems like the most "must see" out of the three.

One of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen.  Certainly the best this year.  Dark ominous clouds mixed with an orange sky led to deep blue/purple clouds that contrasted beautifully.  So much natural saturation in the sky.  Current temp is 52F in Everett.

He was living on Marrowstone Island outside Port Townsend, he pretty much had to take what he could get.  The place he was living at was an ADU and was rent free (in exchange for doing odd jobs for the property owner).

It actually ended up not not being too terrible of a move, fortunately the kid had the presence of mind to buy a lightweight mattress and frame.  The loveseat was not as bad either, slid it down the steps on a moving blanket, and had a rope tied around it to make it easier to control. 

 

It drizzled most of the day on Marrowstone, but as soon as we drove into Port Townsend this evening, it stopped and everything was dry.  By the time we got to I-5 the sun was out, with dark clouds hanging over the mountains to the east.

That stretch from Paisley to Lakeview is like something out of a western except it has a road...for seemingly endless miles.
