June 2020 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

Cooling off quickly out there. Already down to 68. Had a really nice sunset too with the high clouds moving in.

53 here.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Models looking decent for the 4th out there.

Low 70s and partly cloudy. Pretty typical stuff. Which is better weather than 90% of country will be seeing.

Could be 13 days past the solstice by the fourth if the GFS is to be believed.

Pretty pathetic that we have to suffer though pre-6/10 sun angles on THE DAY BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER.

Perfect example of why I always keep my expectations at rock bottom.

Agreed, it could be so much worse at this point.

Weren’t you over 3” there for June?

Over 3.5”, could make a strong run at 4” depending on how the showers pan out this weekend.

3.49” to date at PDX making it the 5th wettest June there recently (since 1940).

Seems like a really good idea at face value until you realize you are marketing a burger to people that they have to assemble themselves.

Getting mixed messages there on the forecast front, though.

That commercial MAY have been a, if not the, catalyst for our currently very divisive culture.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

EPS takes the already niña-esque tropics and consolidates the regime further, with indications that upper level divergence will develop over the maritime continent during the second half of July.

Old school -ENSO minus the W-IO convection. Pacific definitely fits though. And it looks to be locked in for the foreseeable future.

Low of 56 this morning. Just about to head up to chinook pass this morning. Will post some photos I think they’ve still got snow on the ground there.

nothing here yet! Probably the only time you’ve had more rain than me besides that insane thunderstorm back in September of last year.

Still dry here as well.   It looks like the c-zone has set up over SEA though and will probably drift north although it barely shows up on radar.

if you haven’t check out Boulder cave on 410 it’s pretty cool :)

enjoy your trip

Yeah I’ve been there a few times it’s pretty cool! I’m just trying to get up to some snow one last time before it melts out at the higher elevations. It’s currently in the upper 30s and low 40s up around the pass. I’m betting they’ve still got a good amount of snow up there.

SEA is really piling on the rain today. I guess they aren’t always one of the driest locations in the puget sound area.

Wow... up to .32 already.   I was thinking it was just mist.
