people lives are destroyed and because is not a small enough town by your criteria it doesn't matter.

quit with semantic BS

Literally no clue what you are talking about but you are being really strange lately.   I said its a pretty big town and mean it.   You said it was very very small.   5,000 is decent size.    And where on Earth did you get that people losing their homes doesn't matter?    Seriously.

I disagree with the viewpoint that all of western OR will burn to the ground and what is left will be destroyed by a massive earthquake.   That is doomsday thinking and its not healthy to dwell on stuff like that.   Its not related to the Medical Lake fire.

you're hanging on semantics, over what's small and what's large.  whatever.  imo, 5000 is small..  but i'm not the authority on small vs large, city vs town, nor do I claim to be.  regardless, it's a shitty situation for those involved including some colleagues.

In fairness to TT, he wasn't the original poster who started this. I think the important thing is we all should agree that a fire burning a town with a population of 100 and burning a Puget Sound community are equally tragic. TT was only commenting on size of town or if it should be called a city. The original comment he replied to I politely disagree with. Of course I may be biased that I live in a city of 1800 people /2k in the county but the point still stands.

Yes... its a terrible situation and never said otherwise.   Good news is that the main part of Medical Lake appears to have been spared.

It doesn't matter.   He said it was very, very small and I looked it up the population and said 5,000 is a decent size.   None of that equates to not caring about people losing their homes.  No idea where that came from.   Its a nightmare scenario for the people living there.   And I can easily imagine North Bend (same size as Medical Lake) being in a similar situation with a strong east wind event in September when everything is at its driest point.   In fact...  it was in a similar situation 100 years ago.

This should clear the air of smoke on the west side... but likely set up another round of fires east of the mountains with strong winds behind the departing ULL.

It can happen here at any time as well.   In fact... my area is even more vulnerable being remote and surrounded by very dry forest.   But its not healthy to dwell on it.   We are prepared and we have a plan.

Doing what?   Saying its a nightmare scenario and the size of the town doesn't matter?   Yes.

There is one later in the Euro run that brings tropical moisture north into WA.
