October 2023 Weather in the PNW

Wet down in Oregon…but not so much up here. I don’t buy the Uber wet gfs runs and think the euros more accurate. They do need it down in Oregon…and it’s not really a dry pattern up here but I was hoping the pendulum might swing towards really wet after the dryness recently. Sure September was wetter than normal, but October’s falling behind a bit so it’ll probably balance out. Was hoping for a fall like 2021.

Yeah the recent dryness is unfortunate, but things look stormy overall to round out October. This is coming off a wet September as well. I think Tue-Wed has a very promising chance at overachieving, and there's plenty of hope to be had for a phat AR sometime in the next couple weeks.

September ended up a little on the dry side here.  But I bet by the time the dust settles in October it will be a wetter than average month.

Drought has actually worsened in some parts of central BC over the early fall so far.

You said you live in the Olympic foothills, do you have any mountain trails that lead directly out of your property? That's the dream really.

I see SLE, PDX, and EUG hit the rare October 3 consecutive days of 80+ trifecta. Similar to great years like 1987 and other sucktastic years we can think of. Last year notwithstanding.

As you can see... it was a miserable weekend here.  ;)

Well it probably was not in the mid-80s up in the Olympics, in fact Seattle was only 69 from what FRONT RANGER said. If this was mid-August or July it would have been wonderful.

It was wonderful in early October too... spectacular scenery and deep blue sky.

Just felt an earthquake here in DT Seattle. Pretty minor but definitely noticeable.

My son near UW said he felt it... other son in Ballard did not.

Randy must have felt it... pretty close to the epicenter up there.

Didn’t feel a thing! Dogs are all sleeping and I was watching the game as the kids were running around the living room.

Down to 64F outside. Wife is going to Spokane tomorrow and will be in Tampa for 1 week then comes back to Spokane and coming home the next day.

Just a few days before the trip, her best friend asked if she would want to switch to a week later but it would have wrecked havoc with all of our plans the rest of the month  and the travel budget so she said no. Looks like a hurricane at the end of the GFS run ending at 18oz on the 24th?
