The Californian intrusions will continue. 

Portland could reach 80 this week, which is hot there. 70 is a heatwave in Eureka, CA which unlike Newport, OR has never hit 90.

SEA finished Sept with a -0.6 departure and 3.44” of rain. Also reeled in a sub-60 day on the 29th.

We hit 36 this morning. It looked like some frost up on the back hill, but I think it was just heavy dew.

Mentioned on the September thread that it came in exactly average at SLE in terms of

temps. Well above average rainfall. I believe PDX was officially above normal on temps and below normal for rain.

Californians can't tolerate cold weather. PNWers can't tolerate hot weather. Both areas have Mediterranean climates.

Also October averages warmer than May in Southern California.

12z gfs isn’t awful. About 2-2.5” of rain here over the first half of October. Not terrible. A few nice days for Tim’s garden to wind down the season.

I am just glad we don't have to listen to you and your partner complaining endlessly about a few sunny days in early October like it's the end of our ecosystem.

Last year about this time we were dealing with weeklong power shut offs to avoid a calamity. Can’t imagine the bitching we would have heard from you if you had to be on generator power for days on end due to fire danger. I’ll take this.

Nice deflection.    Our big power outage was almost 2 decades now.    I was a kid back then.    Obviously this year is different and not every sunny period is the end of world.   And you and your partner in crime complain all the time.

That honestly seems to be your goal most days.   I am at the nursing home today so not real busy when my dad is sleeping.   At least we got him outside in the courtyard this afternoon.  He really enjoyed that.

Nice to see tomorrow’s rain event getting beefed up a little on the models.

Also starting to look like we won’t have to endure too much misery next week before a rainy pattern returns. Although it wouldn’t surprise me to see the ridgy pattern get extended.

Still in WA?    You said you were moving the last we heard. 

Be glad you aren't in MN.  They canceled the Twin Cities marathon today due to excessive heat.   It was in the 90s with dewpoint near 70.    Then highs in the 40s by the middle of the week.

Taking the boat out Saturday then trading off with my sons and their friends.   That will be a record for us boating in 7 different months in one season.    It will be interesting to see if we can repeat next year with an early spring being likely.

Need to save this example (of many) when you are busy mocking Karens.    A totally normal October progression is described as misery.    Karen-like indeed.

You got so angry about @Port Angeles Foothiller complaining about climo low temps a couple weeks ago.   Well... a progression from warm to wet is classic PNW October.   Don't like quoting you... but you are the first person to jump on someone for complaining about anything you like.   So the irony should be pointed out.

I told my wife today that the colors are going to be great this year.   You could see it coming on the drive to Bellingham.   And the trees don't look stressed now so should be able to put on a show.

Kansas City, Tulsa, back to KC, on to DC, up to New York, and then over to Boston. Going to be exhausting.

Beautiful day.  It hit 63F after much of the morning hovering around 50F.  Found these clouds neat as well as the bigger front to the north.
