Jan 2017 was a genuinely cold January when stacked historically, which is pretty remarkable for modern day Jan climo. It's nice to be approaching the coldest one since then, even if the years proceeding have been torchy.

I still think we end up +1-1.5 above normal this month but that would still be cooler than the last 4. 
 As for February…it’s definitely reminding me of the lead up to 2019 I just can’t see something close to the longevity of that happening again... considering we just had an event with decent staying power just a couple weeks ago. Something like February 2017 or 2018 or maybe even 2006 seems likely to me. Several days in the low-mid 30s with 1 maybe 2 snow chances.

If we get a day or two below freezing with snow on the ground, this winter gets an A, minimum.

Back to the current weather it’s a very boring 47 with drizzle. 0.03” so far today. Wake me up when it’s February.

This winter is currently at a B+ for me. Has slipped a bit due to the typical January doldrums. If we get a lovely few day event we will be back in the A- category, if we get a week long extravaganza then that will upgrade to an A! If we have a February/March 2019 redux then we are looking at A+ territory! However if we just continue with this crapfest January like weather into the spring then I will go as low as a B.

This winter was a B+ two weeks ago, now its probably in the C range, but given the event in December, the absolute floor is probably a C-.

That used to be my trademark so everyone started calling it the daily fuzz! It was caused by terrible satellite internet and an older phone in which images that I would screenshot would already be a bit blurry and then it would get worse when I would zoom and crop!

It really does have a feeling of destiny. Much different than the 13-15 ridgy period up this way.

I don’t think February is gonna have much to offer. It’ll probably outperform January for most people, but that isn’t saying much at this point.
