If we stay below freezing all day tomorrow that would be an automatic half grade raise. But that's going from a C+ to a B-. In actuality it will be March that decides things the most. If we end up actually getting into a progressively wet pattern (and lord permit another snow event) that would forgive much of this recent awful dry period. It also depends whether you consider winter Dec - Feb or the traditional Dec 21 - Mar 22. I have a feeling the grade for the latter may be higher. There are a lot of different metrics that people use to grade a winter. For example if you use max temps of freezing or below this winter is a solid A- no matter what already. I'm becoming more convinced a freezing max is on the table for tomorrow as well. Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! Though there could be effects from such a change of state depending on the degree of strat/trop coupling. 1 Quote Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=
Phil
Less absurd, but still a strong PV regime. U-wind decrease at 65N is largely due to the displacement of the vortex off the pole rather than an actual weakening. Need a full on wind reversal for a SSW (the line would go below zero, representing a net clockwise u-wind). SilverFallsAndrew
Does appear to be some more improvement on the GFS ensembles. The one silver lining with this otherwise disappointing week of weather. 1 Quote Snowfall Precip 2022-23: 95.0" 2022-23: 17.39" 2021-22: 52.6" 2021-22: 91.46" 2020-21: 12.0" 2020-21: 71.59" 2019-20: 23.5" 2019-20: 58.54" 2018-19: 63.5" 2018-19: 66.33" 2017-18: 30.3" 2017-18: 59.83" 2016-17: 49.2" 2016-17: 97.58" 2015-16: 11.75" 2015-16: 68.67" 2014-15: 3.5" 2013-14: 11.75" 2013-14: 62.30 2012-13: 16.75" 2012-13: 78.45 2011-12: 98.5" 2011-12: 92.67" It's always sunny at Winters Hill! This little sleeper event has turned into a full blown arctic event! Wow! Did not expect snow to make it all the way up there. It's more cloudy than I expected this morning. Wouldn't be surprised to see a little light snow later today. Sun is coming up now. 9 Quote **REPORTED CONDITIONS AND ANOMALIES ARE NOT MEANT TO IMPLY ANYTHING ON A REGIONAL LEVEL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED**

The only hope I had was when Michael Snyder was going though the models yesterday he mentioned some moisture re-forming up in this area but with how severe clear it was last evening I didn’t think it would actually happen. I just ran the UW radar loop overnight and it did not show anything up there... but your area is probably out of reach of the coastal radar. 1 Quote **REPORTED CONDITIONS AND ANOMALIES ARE NOT MEANT TO IMPLY ANYTHING ON A REGIONAL LEVEL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED**
TacomaWaWx
Was nice to get a couple hours of light snow last night atleast. A lot more than my expectations going into this atleast. We will see how cold we can get the next couple days. Breezy north winds and cloudy here radar shows precip over us but the air is pretty dry DP of 21. 2 Quote Tacoma WA elevation 300’ Monthly rainfall-3.56” Warm season rainfall-11.14” Max temp-88 +80 highs-2 +85 highs-2 +90 highs-
