-6F here with a current windchill of -25F.

I've been out in much colder actual temps before but something about the wind today has made it feel colder than I've ever felt. Was just outside plowing and it was brutal.🥶🥶

Its been snowing pretty hard for the last 2 hours but it has not really been sticking.    The UW radar loop sort of captures the precip over my area from other radar sources but its distorted.      So great when the SEA radar is down during a snow event!     It looks like its steadily moving west... but never really moves past my area and it keeps snowing.     And now the low clouds have filled in and its really dark and gloomy... but the sun is shining just a few miles to the west.

Tomorrow should be totally sunny here... looking forward to it.

Pretty slushy upon arriving home, a little over 2” on the ground, a lot of snowing and melting throughout the day. Down to 32.7. Only hit 35.2 today, pretty impressed by that. 35/31 so far with 2.7” of snow.

Said it a little while back…monster PV going into spring months has potential to deliver serious cold into the Lower-48 as it breaks down for the warm season.

I think the cold signal is real, and that there’ll be multiple strong cold shots into the CONUS in M/A/M.

My concern is that once the breakdown/seasonal transition completes, the 4CH may once again take over. Walker/Hadley system isn’t quite as ugly as 2021 at this time, but still doesn’t look pretty. At all.

Doesn’t mean the PNW will roast, but a lot will have to go right to avoid a warm summer in the West, IMO.

Just f****** swell 🥰

Bubbly, chilly evening. Hopefully we get a good sunset!

You can see Spokane snowcover, Arctic outflow to the south of Tri Cities over the Columbia River, a gyre of low topped cumulus off the NW Oregon coast.

Been dry all day here, but still a very pretty day. Hopefully the Euro is onto something with the potential Thursday snow.

Either way it's going to be #kold tomorrow and Wednesday. Could make a run at 72+ hours w/o going above 35°F if all goes correctly.

And something tells me March is going to bring something even colder. Nothing guaranteed, but it looks like this may be the coldest first third of the year since 2012, maybe 2011.

It's been 33 years since the last decent March setup. We're at the right latitude for solar insolation in the contiguous US, but rarely do we get the right airmasses. I say we are due.

March of 1989 was amazing! A foot of snow and a high in the upper 20’s. I was a happy camper when school was canceled!

Getting crazy here... band is completely stationary and enhancing and now its absolutely dumping snow and sticking.    This could be pretty significant in my area despite the models showing it moving westward by now.

41/35 today…down to 37 with a DP of 27. Probably should get a midnight low. If we do manage to get some precipitation over here it’ll be snow at this point.

Wonder what’s going on with @GHweatherChris looks like a reverse convergence zone out in his area.

It was interesting a bit ago for like 20 minutes, had a good moderate snow shower with minor accumulation, the best dynamics was just west of here, by like 2 miles west only, took a quick drive and there was hail/snow covered roads by the Chevron gas station west of here, just slushy at the house.  Temp is down to 34 now.

Pretty rare to see a convergence zone form off the Olympics off the SW side.

Looks like some places in the EPSL could be getting some snow soon. It’s moving west and holding together so far.
