Pretty cool that some people got a decent snow event out of this. Very localized but cool event.

There is some activity moving in from the east now as the ECMWF showed.      Hard to tell how significant it is because the SEA radar is down... of course.     Just had some light rain falling while the sun was shining.

Snow and pollen! When I was inspecting the top of my truck to make sure the carport support did not damage anything when the metal support bent down and broke. No damage but I have pollen accumulation since this morning!

That snow is not going anywhere now for a few days... and might get a boost on Thursday morning per the ECMWF.

Watching the satellite loop it appears the activity out here is related to the northerly wind and outflow interacting with easterly flow around a weak low over eastern WA.

Been a lot of February 21st’s that have featured at least some snow on the ground the last several years. And then the year it was in the upper 70’s far from here!
Currently 38.8 with a DP of 35.
.53” of snowmelt so far on the day.
Bottom pic is current as of 2:40pm.

Wouldn’t be surprised if some places south of Seattle saw some precip drop from NE to SW sometime later today like the euro showed.

Do you think the West is going to continue to be as dry as it has been over the last 1 1/2 months, or do you think there will be more storminess and a chance of wetter conditions even into part of California?

I don’t know. But there’s nothing to indicate a stormy pattern will develop in the SW anytime soon. And the seasonal clock is ticking.

GFS ensembles are still not great. But the Operational is nice and the GEM and EURO ensembles are a lot better... And it's not like the GFS ensembles are horrible, just a lot of divergent solutions.

Down to 32 here after topping out at 37.  Completely clear out, and the peak wind gust so far at my house is 30 mph.  The lights flickered a little earlier, but that's about it (so far).

36.4 degrees and dropping rapidly.

DP 32. Snowmelt has pretty much stopped now.

.60” of snowmelt through the gauge.
Funny how a marginal situation in late February worked out amazingly while the marginal events in mid December were mostly busts here with maybe a sloppy half inch each time…Even with precip rates similar to this morning. February is just magical. Still about 2-3” of snow on the ground in the unmolested areas.
