Said it a little while back…monster PV going into spring months has potential to deliver serious cold into the Lower-48 as it breaks down for the warm season.

I think the cold signal is real, and that there’ll be multiple strong cold shots into the CONUS in M/A/M.

My concern is that once the breakdown/seasonal transition completes, the 4CH may once again take over. Walker/Hadley system isn’t quite as ugly as 2021 at this time, but still doesn’t look pretty. At all.

Doesn’t mean the PNW will roast, but a lot will have to go right to avoid a warm summer in the West, IMO.

Starting to get more cloudy here... wondering if the ECMWF will be right about more snow coming in from the east.   Snow cover needs a refreshing!

When was the last time we didn't have a warm summer? Par for the course.

Hottest on record last year, even if PDX NWS refuses to acknowledge that the valley exists to their south.

I bet Tacoma was thinking to himself, "Look at this ****** with the golden scoot!"

I've ridden dirt bikes for 40 years but this is a totally new experience.  It has a 50 mile range and does 60mph. I just hit the road back and cruised 50 mph home. I always wear full dirt bike gear and a tough carbon fiber helmet.

Do you think the West is going to continue to be as dry as it has been over the last 1 1/2 months, or do you think there will be more storminess and a chance of wetter conditions even into part of California?

There actually is some left in the shaded areas... you can sort of see it off in the distance down the road as well.  👍

Snow and pollen! When I was inspecting the top of my truck to make sure the carport support did not damage anything when the metal support bent down and broke. No damage but I have pollen accumulation since this morning!

Looks like it’s clearing to the north of here. Unless we get some precip from the east it’s probably dry for now. 40 here now and the north wind has kicked in.

Might be a chance for some snow Thursday with that system dropping out of the north. Wouldn’t be much but it’d be cool if it worked out. Gfs says no but it hasn’t been right with anything recently.

Insane!  Less than a ten mile difference and no elevation change.  Here is a photo from Everett, Washington (ship).  The second photo is a 15 minute ferry ride across the water on Whidbey Island near Clinton, Washington!  It's a winter wonderland here with trees falling across the road meanwhile in Everett it is beautiful, sunny, and completely dry. All in the same day and less than ten miles apart!  That is crazy!
