I wonder if The Dalles station is over exposed. They are at 32, yet I can't find any other station along the river east or west that's above 29.

Their 52 degree high yesterday seemed slightly suspect.

The GFS has a lot of variation though its generally on the cool side of average once we move past March 3rd. 

The EURO ensembles however don't really have the warmer members so the mean is closer to -4/-5C for 850mb temps at PDX. 

The GFS has next weeks storms going into BC, and the Euro has cold fronts coming into the Bay Area. Only a 1k mile difference. Lol

To the east Celilio is 28, La Page Park is 29, to the west Lyle is 29, Hood River is 28.

Did a lot of research on nearby stations that day since that reading was such a big outlier in their POR and couldn’t find anything within 2-3 degrees

That was a pretty prolific air mass for a lot of east slope locations. It’d be one thing if they were the only earliest-on-record spot…

Yeah that airmass was something a slew of records up and down the east slopes but DLS could still be overexposed it’s not one or the other

The fact of the matter is that every ASOS/AWOS is "overexposed" under that logic. They all sit somewhere in between runways or infield and are completely exposed. Airport to airport you'd likely end up with the same reading vs someones wind protected or shaded backyard.

We have recieved 10% of our normal February precip 75% of the way through the month.

Upslope banding has favored the south end of the lake today. Forecast was for 3-8"

Currently at 11" and still dumping snow. Current temp is 23F which is very cold for Tahoe.

Up to 34 at DLS on the hour seems pretty warm for this setup for that station but it’s probably just because their an airport

Another station (CWOP) just to the east of the airport is reporting 33F so I'd say the reading is pretty accurate. Think this is just a case of late Feb sun angles winning out.
