Phil
I think we can just about take late January and early February off the table. What is the next guess??? I say next December. Any takers?Mother Nature is a cruel mistress..I was feeling pretty good about things given the tropics favoring the development of an Aleutian ridge. But the stratosphere isn't cooperating right now, on many levels..the PV will probably remain over eastern Canada as the higher POV maxima in the upper levels is pushed E of Greenland and will be forced farther from the pole by the upcoming stratwarm/WBB event..so it will try to stack in Eastern Canada but meet the shear zone, throwing a ridge over the pole, stretching the maxima and beating down the SE ridge. So, the +AO days will be fewer and farther between going forward..with a legit -AO possible by mid February.
