I do agree with Andrew though, I’m reluctant to call anything a “real deal” a week out right now considering the models are even struggling 2-3 days out.

I do think some areas in the puget sound region get absolutely nailed with convergence Sunday and Monday. As for the overrunning. Way way way too early to have any idea on that.

Snyder sounds like a complete Washington homer. To be honest I don’t give 2 sh*t what he has to say.

People in Washington don't give a sh*,t about what Mark says either.   Of course he is a Washington homer, it's where he lives and forecasts.  And he has talked about snow possibilities for Portland Western Oregon

Probably the biggest GFS run of the year coming up.

Not really... it feels like its sort of become irrelevant when its off on its own like this.

One thing to keep in mind about Portland is that it sits in a hole at sea level. Going south and west is a 6% grade and east is a gradual climb to Gresham at 350 feet, then you get into the foothills. There is a huge differences in elevation. The west hills are over a thousand feet. Generally when cold comes through it takes an additional two days for Troutdale to moderate and another two to four days for the Gorge. The temperature is usually about four degrees warmer in Portland than Sandy.

Yeah we're at 250ft just to the west of the west hills. I've noticed we also get a pretty strong east wind that accelerates off of them. How did your area do during the April snowstorm?

Not sure why there’s the hate against mike Snyder. Maybe it’s warranted if someone had a bad experience with him but I haven’t seen anything to make me think negatively of him. He’s pretty darn good IMO and is definitely a snow and cold fan. You can tell he gets excited to track this stuff.

The guy is known by several folks to be very abrasive, cold, arrogant, etc "away from the spotlight" so to speak.

I myself had a very negative experience with him one on one almost 12 years ago.

People DON'T forget those who treat them like s*** for no reason.

Didn’t know that…interesting. Just from what I’ve seen from following his weather stuff the last few years I haven’t thought anything negative but people can be very different in person too.

I just made a video, but the file size was too big. I’ll make a new shorter one.

I'm having a drink for every time MS says "convergence zone".  I'm getting smashed!!!

How about the winds from the north and the winds from the south colliding at a specific spot resulting in explosive cloud covers and water falling from them?

Does that make you want to drink less?
