Last nights Euro hinted at that new ridge too.

Fairly big local differences at hour 240 between the GFS and GEM, but wouldn't be surprised to see the GFS fall in line later on at this point.

From an upper level standpoint they are nearly identical. They are handling the lower levels over the pnw differently is all.

Upshot is that blocky patterns tend to lead to arctic air eventually.
