Just 5 minutes ago I could see the cascades and I could see patches of blue sky. Now I can barely see down to my lower field with moderate snow falling and gusty winds that are swirling between south and north.

I'm just looking at PDX numbers, 1950 & 1951 were so amazing for snow here. Our 3 longest consecutive day runs w/measurable snow came within a 14 month stretch.

January 1950 was absolutely amazing. Following all those snow events every day and not having any break at all before the next one came must of been crazy. I want to experience something like that again hopefully sometime soon.

Just keeps warming up slowly here. I wonder when the transition to rain will be tonight? I expect before 2am.

Classic shadowing. A lot of those blue echos south are virga so nothing falling to the ground. Looks like a nice convergence zone setting up to the north though. That area could do well.

The radar is looking like that moisture is moving towards the ENE and I'm about to pop out of the southern edge.  I've added about 1/2" here is all.

Fresh snow makes everything better. So simple yet so amazing. I just wonder why the forecasts from EC, Wunderground, accuweather, etc are so warm when the models clearly suggest conditions favorable for snow.

The last bit a moisture I had was not snow... Actually mostly rain/sprinkles. Bummer.

Snowed most of the afternoon here. The trees are totally coated with a good inch of snow but barely anything stuck to the ground. Looks kind of odd.

Snowing pretty good here now, the zone (if that's what it is) has filled in a bit.  I now have about an inch from this feature.  Temp down to 31.9F now.  I love it.

Looks like the Central Sound got well-shadowed again. Ugh... That's the last time I believe the GFS over the NAM.

 

Hopefully the system later tonight will deliver something or that CZ drifts south. Don't see a strong north wind developing in order to do that but I suppose you never know.
