Gfs ensemble has a few members that drop down around -5 or -6C

Sort of a general wx-weenie post rather than a PNW one, but I’m seeing solid precursor signals for legit cyclone/blizzard activity across much of the country (in particular for the Plains, Midwest, and Northeast) from the third week of January to the first week of February. Could be some mammoth storms in that period.

 

The equatorward deposition of +AAM w/ the degrading branch @ 60N and MJO propagating to the west-Pacific warm pool = classic.
