SLE has recorded at least a trace of rain 12 of the past 13 hours, yet only has 0.11" in the bucket to show for it.

I’m absolutely loving this zesty active weather! Hoping for some good snow later this winter.

If you live in Portland, you're only about a 40 mile drive up to the snowline. Maybe that'll get pushed down the mountain a bit at some point, making it closer.

I actually like the 06z Fv3 this morning. . Chilly w/potential.

A couple of small lowland snow events here!  The wind was gusting to about 50mph here from the ESE most of the night.  Probably one of the more impressive overnight windstorms I can remember.

Stayed in the mid 40's all night, though there is a bit of a chill with the gusty winds that have persisted since about 9pm (most of which KLMT is not picking up on.... silly them).

I love how your only contribution to this forum is being an a** to people who are actually talking about the upcoming weather/models. Are you that down about how poorly this month has turned out?

How mean spirited of you. I like seeing his enthusiasm rather than spending his trips bitterly trolling this place like so many of us. I’ve enjoyed this month too. Looking more active and wet than anything we’ve seen this year so far. Gotta enjoy what gets thrown at you man, the months won’t keep coming forever as you know!

North side of the mountain? South side is way more shear than that as you go into Newberg.

I was in Victoria last night and it was howling around 10 to 11pm. Looks like Trial Island gusted to nearly 80mph

I talked to my brother in Port Angeles last night and was pretty surprised to hear how bad it got up there on Friday. The entirety of Port Angeles and Sequim lost power for most of the day. Hundreds of trees down as well, including one that crushed he co-worker’s car just a few feet from his.

Wow. Was that from the westerly winds down the strait?

I think they were from the SSW. I was trying to go back and look at the obs but Port Angeles hasn’t been reporting since Friday morning when the winds first started. I know the city itself declared a state of emergency in the wake of the storm.

Reading some news stories from Port Angeles... they say the area was "ravaged" and there are thousands of downed trees.

If we are supposed to despise weather conditions that hurt trees... than this windstorm was pure evil.   ;)

I think maybe they must not be used to getting strong winds from that direction? I would have assumed the Olympics would shelter them from southerlies for the most part. My brother just moved up there in July so he is still getting familiar with the climate.

May have been a downslope wind event?

Total snow just through next Sunday... obviously the ECMWF has been trending colder for the upcoming week.
