Frontal Snowsquall
Quite a few GFS ensemble members are showing a healthy dose of snow at the end of next week. Included KPDX as well. Over half of the ensemble members are showing that snow for later next week. Good to see at this point.
Phil
The vast majority of the 12z EPS members bring in two rounds of cold air with the prolonged -NAMT. The other (smaller) cluster is a one-and-done type deal with a more progressive wavetrain. There are some interesting possibilities throughout. So far I don’t see anything that would cause the pattern to fail to materialize. Just a question of whether enough cold air makes it south for a lowland snowstorm, or whether it’s a Feb 2008 type deal. Either way, it won’t suddenly flop and morph into a ridge or BSF. Too much middle latitude AAM loss for that to happen w/ an EHEM MJO in early February, IMO. 1 Quote Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=
