Not liking these radar trends so far. A small batch of snow came through, but just south of MSP looks primed to steal the show unless the radar fills in. Quite a bit of dry air to the west.

There's a really nice band of snow developing along highway 30 in Western Iowa. Dark green on radar. Rates in that band have to be at least 1 inch per hour.

It’ll get warmer as the SLP moves closer. The reason for this is the WAA wing is producing further south than anticipated.

After starting the day at 0.20" in Cedar Rapids and then climbing to 0.30", the HRRR has gradually dried out the southern edge and CR is down to 0.15" on the last run.

That seems too low. Based on radar, I think 3-4 is a good bet here. Maybe 5 depending on the heavy band that is in Central Iowa now.
