That will be it for the month, which means they'll finish way below normal for the second May in a row. 4 of the past 5 Mays with less than 1" of rain...pretty incredible when you consider that from 1993 to 2014, there were only 2 such Mays. Run the 500mb loop on Tropical Tidbits starting on Wednesday afternoon... this thing is perfectly tracing the coastline from the Aleutian Islands to San Diego. Starts off the coast of the Aleutians on Wednesday... Overall it’s been another relatively dry may for most of the area. I know certain areas north of Seattle had a day with decent rainfall while most of us missed out. The GFS has almost nothing over town, seems like the ECMWF did alright. I think another wet pattern is potentially coming after this dry period so it may wipe out the difference of drier conditions to the south. We will just have to see how it’ll play out but it has been interesting the line of dry to wetter areas this month. Coldest and wettest day of the month...so nice it can line up on a holiday weekend. This time last year it basically hadn't rained substantially for a month. This isn't necessarily a bad thing.
