Even more snow mixing in now, temp down to 36.  This weather is way more fun than boring normal or above normal weather.

12z EPS definitely seems a little more divided on the late month ridge idea that the operational. Decent warm signal in the long range though. Let’s see where it goes after that.

And that Maine, not Florida, is the closest state to Africa?

38 degrees after a high of 40. Absolutely incredible cold for mid April.  Feels like a cold November day. Love it!

If there’s any 1950s analog it’s 1957.

The GFS is going its typical thing in the clown range. Not even worth looking beyond D8-10 on that model or its ensembles at this time of year.

Our high for the day was 43 at 10 AM, been in the 30s since and rain/snow mix most of the day, temp is 36 right now with yep, rain/snow mix, just outstanding!!

It hasn't worked out in the past month or so but looks like maybe a brief warm up is followed by a bigger warm up and maybe some thunder bumpers.

Just did a Spring/Summer spotter refresher tonight for NWS Spokane particularly as I'm going to North Texas in just over two weeks and May is peak storm season there. To a lesser extent it is here  as well east of the cascades but mild by comparison. I probably should have taken the advanced but basic was still pretty good. The last spotter training I did was winter so I'm less familiar with severe summer storm warning signs.

I'm a lot less familiar with the HRRR...I see it is trending on Twitter for Iowa and Missouri. Are people excited for a severe storm or disappointed? It is hard to decode since we don't usually deal with that kind of weather.

Ended up with a very chilly 49/37 spread here. Some morning slushy rain snow mix at times, then scattered heavy showers throughout the day and a cold SW breeze. Sunbreaks were pretty limited but there were a few.

Your area seemed to be under something of a bullseye today. Quite a bit of sunbreaks down here today, Some splendid hail/grapuel showers. Weather has moved back in with some slushy snow/rain mix falling at the moment.
