It's not warmer than normal... but mean trough position is to the east across the northern US and that is a dry pattern for us. I never said it was real warm. But it has trended much less troughy over the last couple days.
Well the EPS hasnt exactly covered itself in glory the last few days in terms of precip forecasting, so this map means less to me than it usually would. I think were due for a heavy precip streak and models are false starting trying to get that pattern going
It's nice that we have more seasonable warmth to tide us over before the nourishing rains return. At the very least its a placeholder pattern, and any weather pattern that isn't torching after April 15th is a godsend in this climate era.
