On the flip side the Euro immediately puts us back into a fairly boring warm pattern with temps 5-7 degrees above average. Seems a lot more likely, sadly.

If the Euro’s right then this is sort of the progression I feared. Rather than a pattern change toward cooler and wetter for a couple weeks, this is looking more like a 3-4 day trough in a sea of warmth.

Don’t expect a ton of rain the next few days with this pattern IMBY with some shadowing likely…but where it’s needed most is the higher terrain anyways. Next band of rain to the west looks like it could get here though. No rain so far today and 60 degrees outside.

Was thinking we might stay below 60 today but sunnier than I thought it would be. I do expect that we will see some decent rain at some point over the next 3 days though.

It’s actually a pretty nice day. But yeah hopefully we get in on the rain here. Looks like after Tuesday we dry out and that might be it for a while.

Yeah we will see, I’d be surprised if this summer is extremely dry like the last 2. Warmth overall compared to 20 years ago is always a given it seems but we could still get some rain in the summertime like we did in the last nino summer (2019)

I copied what Mark Nelsen posted on his Facebook account because I wanted to give the credit to the people who took these photos. 

 

A cold upper level low moving overhead in late spring or early summer often brings (usually harmless) funnel clouds.  That's due to unstable air.  One was spotted over Camas around 9am this morning. The view caught by Danette is 1st pic. Scott Winkler shot the 2nd pic.  Did anyone see it touch the ground/water?  If so, then it would be either a waterspout or tornado.  Can't confirm it from pics since trees are in the way, but it sure was hanging low!

I just noticed this. It came out awhile ago. When that heavy shower came through earlier in the day, it looked like it was trying to form something on the Southeast side of the shower but it never did develop.

...FUNNEL CLOUDS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON IN THE INLAND VALLEYS OF

SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON...

 

An unsettled weather pattern has led to widespread shower

activity this afternoon across southwest Washington and northwest

Oregon. Some of the showers are strong, and can be capable of

producing funnel clouds. There have already been isolated reports

of funnel clouds this afternoon. Funnel clouds often do not touch

the ground. However, if they do touch the ground they are

dangerous and can produce minor damage.

The radar is interesting. Velocity 101. Green is going towards the radar and reds are going away from the radar. It's interesting to see greens mixed in with the reds.

Lightning coming out of that storm I showed earlier that looked like some rotation. Looks like it's heading my way. The bottom half looks almost like a tornado hook

More lightning coming out of this storm. It looks like Milwaukee is going to be hit hard by this storm. I actually work in Milwaukee...lol
