Omegaraptor
I-5 in southern OR had a near constant stream of t'storms/showers. Last 2 days they've been scoring more than the east sides.I saw a 70 DBZ severe warned cell yesterday near Crater Lake. That thing had to be producing some pretty big hailstones. Haven’t seen any lightning near here recently. This season it seems like whenever a ULL approaches, thunderstorms somewhere between Roseburg and Red Bluff are guaranteed to pop up.
GeorgeWx
True story they were actually going to build an eight lane Mt. Hood Freeway from downtown Portland through SE PDX to Mt. Hood. They actually started on the project and to this day you can still see the remants of that freeway with how unique Powell Blvd looks in SE PDX. "The biggest of all was called the Mount Hood Freeway, an eight-lane ribbon that would have peeled off the Marquam Bridge, and run east in a 40-foot-deep trench where Southeast Clinton Street is now, cutting down to Powell Boulevard and running beyond I-205." https://www.wweek.com/portland/article-23466-feb-4-1974-portland-kills-the-mount-hood-freeway.htmlThis would have helped with the traffic and gridlock we have now in the city

Phil
Its only June 13th... too early to say.Yeah, I think it’s a close call. The intraseasonal cycle resumes constructive interference w/ the base state sometime in the late June/early July timeframe, which is when the offshore anticyclone/west coast trough would be favored to return, all else being equal. But does it happen before, or just after, the 4th? Essentially impossible to know right now unless you’re clairvoyant.
