It will be amazing if it snows here tonight, it is not even close to cold and dewpoints are not really that low yet around here.

Bremerton is 45 dewpoint 35, that wont do it but thats at the surface and it could be much different just 500ft above that.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

At our new spot about 850’ in the west hills and it’s all snow for the last 30 min. No idea what will happen, but this was much earlier than forecast.

Kids coming home early after school. Not risking getting stuck on the roads.

Maybe Mark busts again? Giving me the 2017 vibes.

Yeah based on my drive back from school it’s legit flakes at 500ft, still splatty rain just another 2 mins down the hill. Mark’s new post says this still ain’t it…guess we’ll see! Flakes in the air is always fun tho ❄️

Certainly frustrating the models are so dry for this area.  Definitely looks like a cold enough air mass to pull off snow.

The radar really isn't looking that impressive to me.

Sometimes radar is really misleading though. Temperatures currently are misleading for the potential this evening as well.
I’m just going into this event with 0 expectations either way IMBY. No model really seems to have a handle on what’ll happen.

I understand both, just saying this one will be impressive if it pulls it off. One of the best evaporative cooling events we have had in many years.

Never trust mark! He was wrong last February, and he'll be wrong this February!

I think Portland going to get quite a bit of snow, but we'll see.

It’s definitely coming west of Highway 16 and Highway 3 on the peninsula. I really wouldn’t put much stock into this event here if the euro was showing nothing…but it’s been consistent showing 1/2-1” here. Most of the models do show atleast 1/2” here with the exception of a couple models. Even with the consensus of the models showing snow…I just ain’t buying it til I see it.

This is a now cast  situation. Time to just watch radar.

For sure, it’s just entertaining to see how we still have no model agreement really 12 hours out. Speaks to how many things need to line up correctly for this to happen.

This thing looks remarkably good for Aberdeen.  Just don't see a way they don't get several inches.

Was really windy up in snoqualmie at work today. Felt cold…but yet temps were in the mid 40s. Currently 47 here in Tacoma. If it does somehow manage to snow tonight into tomorrow morning it would be wild.

Mid 40s with wind and dry air does feel cold.

I can't remember last time we went from mid 40's to a snow event without an arctic front. Been a minute.

We have had several up here the past few years. Cloudy and mid to upper 40s in the afternoon. 8-10” of 32-33F snow by morning.  Might mean a little more rain on the front end of it though.

So have they had at least 2”? Boy that must be rough for anybody that’s had more ice than snow accumulation since then.

Low DP's will counteract the daytime heating, assuming we get enough evaporative cooling. It's really going to come down to precip rates above all else. Timing is nearly perfect actually.

A lot of what is being picked up on radar is actually virga. Not enough precip would mean light mix. If we get more than forecast, snow. Fun nowcast in progress!

The wind isn't quite as strong as I expected here.  That could help with precip rates tonight.
